How to build an adirondack guideboat

Dr. Gordon L. Fisher.

Gordon Fisher fell in love with the Adirondacks while on a family camping trips there thirty years ago. Fascinated by Adirondack watercraft, especially the Adirondack guideboat he determined to build his own. His quest led him to old time guideboat builders, the Adirondack Museum, and finally to those who knew the romantic history of the classic guideboat he replicated. As a docent at the Adirondack museum he learned that others, like himself, yearned to build a guideboat. He called on his engineering background and technical writing skills to provide manuals for building a traditional Adirondack guideboat and guideboat paddle. Gordon and His wife Fran own a camp on Long Lake.
